Who's in Sounds Like Sunset these days, I used to know someone who was in this band 10 years ago, Aje do you know any of them personally or is this a random hook up?

i know a few of them from many years ago, but the singer/guitarist, dave, is the one i know most. so, no, it wasn't a random match up - i've actually been asking them for years to play a gig with us - the planets have finally aligned!

hey Marcella, who do you need to track down? i can probably point you in the right direction. Rohan? Matt? Dave? Andrew? gosh - that's quite a list come to think of it..

Not exactly sure who was in the band in 1999/2000, maybe it is you Dave who I knew of through Tim Kirkegard? Was Muzzy ever in this band? I have vague memories of seeing SLS at the 2001 Big Day Out, would that be right?! Are you the Dave who ran a small churchy thing in Newtown? Pennant Hills circa 2000, now that's a blast from the past!

hi Marcella - yeah I know Tim. Muzzy hasn't been with us but we know Muzzy too - he & Tim had a band around 2003-2004ish . We played the Big Day Out one time in 2000 & that was it :)

ohh yeah...Rohan (drums at the time) was part of that Newtown group though.

I grew up around Pennant Hills but I'd already skipped town by '97-'98

i saw that big day out show as well. was great to hear all that guitar through a big p.a. in a huge cavern with not very many people in there to absorb the sound. made it all the bigger.

was almost as good as the first (i believe, not including the first blackstump all star jam band) sounds like sunset show where you played just before bubblejuggler at east toongabbie primary school (a showbiz mecca). if i remember correctly, the keyboard player mimed along to his keyboard preset tune for one particular interlude. not quite the dark and serious beast that sounds like sunset was to become.

hahaha - wow, a dark and serious beast?!? that's awesome Adrian!

yeah, Toongabbie Public. I remember spending the set singing and staring up at the Bubblejuggler disco ball through the whole set!

and that was Beef (aka Andrew Fevre) with the keyboard, before he moved to guitar - he had some cheesy preset on his Korg synth thing. ever the showman! I've got that show on video somewhere.

Beef's gone now by the way - these days he plays drums in Machine Machine - funnily enough they're playing the Lansdowne this coming sunday night. Dave Hobson (SLS bass) plays bass in that band too. It's Joe's band/project really - he's the drummer from Founder.

Wow. nostalgia...
